European Ocean Act: CiRAM Position Paper
The European Ocean Act aims to strengthen and modernise maritime spatial planning in order to support the implementation of the priorities of the European Ocean Pact, notably through improved cross-sectoral coordination and a reinforced sea-basin approach. It also seeks to enhance the governance of ocean observation.
In this context, CiRAM contributed to the European public consultation by providing its scientific and legal expertise on maritime governance and maritime spatial planning, with a view to ensuring a coherent and effective implementation of existing European objectives.
